"Got Mup?" Explained!

Ok, so for those of you who don't know, which is pretty much anyone outside of my very immediate family (even some of my "somewhat" immediate family doesn't know) you wonder what "mup" means. Ok, so here's the story.

(For those of you who don't know and just for future blog reference, I have 4 daughters--two from my previous marriage to Shawna: Madilyn (Mal) age 10, and Morgan (Mo) age 8, and now two with Nicole: Hailey (2 1/2) and Caitlin (just turned 1.)

Ok, so Hailey originally called her chocolate milk, "mop"...then it became "mope"....then it became "mup" all with about a 2 week period....and mup has stuck ever since. Ok, some time later when the girls (Mal and Mo) were over here, Hailey asked for mup... and out of nowhere, Mal just came out and said "got mup?" (you know, like the "Got Milk?" commercials / advertisements?) We all got a big kick out of that quick-witted comment coming from a 10-year-old....especially me! I thought it was hilarious! So anyway, I had my blog account started WAAAAAY back at the beginning of the year... back when I thought my blogging was just going to be simple rants about local (and some national) news stories and even "green" blogs about simple recycling and all that. Well, I didn't do any blogging at all until just recently when I really got irritated with, well, if you read my blogs, then you know what I get irritated by. ;-) And as far as my original blog "alias" before it became gotmup.blogspot.com I was thinking since I am such a Star Wars nut, I came up with something like jabbatheblog.blogspot.com...it was either that or bloggerthehut.blogspot.com but I figured that most people (outside of Star Wars fans) wouldn't have a clue what it meant. So I decided to come up with something else that wasn't Star Wars related...something that was a bit more special or meant more than just showing I was a Star Wars fan. So after thinking of several different ideas (most of which were really not that good to begin with) I remembered Mal saying "Got Mup?" and so I decided to go with that. Granted, "got mup" really has nothing to do with my blog itself, but at least now you know how I came up with it.

Does anyone even read my blogs?

If you read my blogs, even if you don't care about their content, someone comment at least one of them, please... I would like to know that at least one person is reading them...even if I do get a little heated or talk about "things you're just not supposed to talk about." :-)

Stupid people!

Be forewarned... I'm not going to talk nice (in this blog) about anyone that still wants to vote for Obama.

Can ANYONE give me just one, good, VALID reason why they are voting for Obama? I mean, seriously... I'm not the only one that has given everyone plenty of reasons why he's not a viable candidate! I mean, come on... with all of his "questionable" radical associations, he can't even become an FBI agent!! What does that tell you about his character??? I'm still waiting for ANYONE to tell me what he has done that would make him a good president. I'm still waiting for anyone to say anything less dumb than "I don't know, I just want something different." Well, DUH! George W's not going to be president anymore... so no matter WHO wins, you're going to get someone different! Just because McCain is a Republican doesn't mean he's going to be EXACTLY the same as W. was, right? Oh well, I'm sure he will if you believe the Obama campaign because that's the only thing he's been selling.

Ever notice how he talks a good talk, but never has any details (rather any true details) about what he says? And not to mention, did you know (no, I'm sure you don't) that when he ran for the Illinois senate he kept telling people how he was going to lower their taxes...that's what his campaign was all about--lowering taxes. And did you know (no, you didn't) that the ENTIRE TIME he was there, he never lowered taxes??? In fact, he voted to RAISE taxes every single time he could! Remember in my previous blogs how I asked you what has this man ever done? Well, there's one thing he's done... He lied to everyone about lowering taxes and instead did everything he could to RAISE them!! But wait! Hang on a sec... hasn't he been saying this whole entire time he's been campaigning for president that he was going to lower taxes for 95% of the tax payers when he becomes president?? Sounds like a good gimmick to me! Good enough for STUPID PEOPLE to believe it. Ok, so why would anyone believe him? He's already proven that he lied about lowering taxes once before... he lied the entire time he ran for the senate seat. So why in the world would we believe him now? Can anyone answer that?

Here's proof:
http://www.thedailyconservative.net/2008/10/08/obama-the-tax-man/

So, again, I'm asking anyone that still wants to vote for Obama to give me at least one good, true, valid reason why he's president material... why do you think he'll make a good president when he's already proven how radical his views are, and how he lies about important things, and how he works very hard to circumvent very important questions posed to him to talk about his background? I'm still waiting!

Afternote:
Ok, so after you've read this, anyone that still wants to vote for Obama, go right ahead. You obviously have your own reasons even if they aren't good ones. ;-) But in the meantime, let me say this--I know I get hot headed at times. I know that it's not nice to call people names. So let me say that I am not calling any one person out specifically. So don't get all upset and mad at me. It's not like I'm saying "Joe Blow you're a stupid person" to anyone. Ok? It's all good. :-)

Don't like the way the government runs things? Vote McCain!

Doesn't sound right, does it? You don't like how the government is running things, right? You don't believe the president is doing a good job, right? And if you believe what Osama, I mean Obama says, then you believe that he's going to change all that. Well, here's something perhaps you haven't thought of...

Typically speaking it goes like this:

Republican==More for a "free market" and less government intervention...therefore, a smaller government.
Democrat==More government control of stuff. A much larger government with more government involvement in just about everything. More "spreading the wealth" -- that means the government will take YOUR money and give it to those who are lazy and don't want to work...or are in this country illegally and not paying any taxes to begin with!

So, like I keep saying, choose wisely. -- Oh, and one more thing. Ask yourself this -- what has your presidential candidate done to prove he will make a good president? Not what he might do, but what has he actually done? What has he already proven? If you can't answer about what he has already done, then what makes you believe he can do anything in the future?

"Beyond the shadow of a doubt"

For all you Obama supporters, for those of you who really are going to vote for him, and you really do believe with all your heart that he is the best presidential candidate, then you better hope you're right.

Why? Well, you know how they say when in court that you have to prove "within a shadow of a doubt" that someone is guilty or not? Well, there has been PLENTY more than just a mere "shadow" cast upon him. Want some examples? I have some listed...and these are FACTS. But I don't want you to take my word for it -- do your own research and make an INFORMED decision for yourself, as you should always do when you vote for anyone!

Shadow #1:
What has he done? I mean really. Other than having the most liberal voting record in the senate proving just how far "to the left" he really is (which McCain had the best quote when he said that even he would have trouble "reaching that far across the isle..." that was just priceless!)

Shadow #2:
Bill Ayers--an unrepentant terrorist who bombed our Pentagon, a New York police station. The only reason he was never incarcerated for it is because his sleazy lawyers got him off on a technicality! When asked about in 2001, Ayers said "I don't regret setting bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough", and, when asked if he would "do it all again," as saying "I don't want to discount the possibility."

Now Obama has been linked to him in more than one way. Is that saying he "associates with known terrorists?" Yes, but at the same time, in all fairness, it's not saying something like he's "buddy-buddy" with an active terrorist like Obama Bin Laden.... uhm, I mean Osama Bin Laden. But it is still simply put, another "shadow."

Shadow #3
Rev. Jeremiah Wright
Who is he? Well, he was Obama's preacher for 20 years... the one he looked up to for his spiritual guidance. The one that for 20 years, he sat in the pews of his church listening to things Rev. Wright was saying... things like "God damn America..." and "the U.S. of 'KKK' A" and how he preached about the 9/11 attacks as "America's chickens are coming home to roost." He also said things such as "Jesus was a poor, black man who lived in a country and who lived in a culture that was controlled by rich white people." I don't know about you, but anyone of any race that hates racism would think that what he said is a racist statement. But he didn't stop there... want to read everything he said on that day? Several months ago when Hillary was still in the race? Go to the link below and you can read the transcript and if the video hasn't been taken down, you can see it and hear him for yourself!

http://news.lavenderliberal.com/2008/03/13/barack-obamas-spiritual-mentor-rev-jeremiah-wright-jr-bashes-mythical-rich-whites-especially-italians/

Now can we prove that Barack was in the pews on that particular day when he said this? No, but you can't think for one moment that this was the only time he said this kind of stuff in all of the 20-years that Barack was in his church.

Shadow #4
His ties to ACORN and ACORN's voter fraud activities
Again, Barack Obama has been linked to another group or organization with a very shady background. The group ACORN has been under fire for forcing people to register to vote more than one time (one guy registered over 60 times) and they have also registered all the names on the entire Dallas Cowboys player roster--but in Ohio??? That in itself should immediately throw-up a red flag to ACORN.

So how is Obama tied to them? Well one way is that his campaign paid $800,000 to ACORN for "get out there and vote" efforts during the primaries. Now, does this mean that he paid them money and said "get as many people to vote for me as you possibly can?" No, but again, just another "shadow" to consider.

Shadow #5
Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac
Did you know that Barack Obama was the 2nd highest recipient of money from Fannie Mae? (Dem. Chris Dodd was #1) So why was he given so much money from them? Why did they put so much into his campaign? Makes no sense to me... the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is at the focal point of why people think we are in a recession...or why our economy is as bad as it is...and yet Barack Obama gets tons of money from them. One would want to know why? What is it that they get if he is elected? Not to mention, Franklin Raines of Fannie Mae. As an executive at Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines illegally coerced his employees to falsify accounting facts so he’d get a maximum bonus. And now he's one of Obama's campaign advisers? Sounds like a good candidate for a "shadow" to me!

Shadow #6
Tony Rezko
So who is Tony Rezko? He's Obama's neighbor and by Obama's own words was also "a friend and former fundraiser" who was recently convicted of fraud and corruption. I know that people make mistakes and poor judgement calls, but still. He's yet another "shadow" to Obama.

So, just with these few "shadows" that I have pointed out, and again, they are all 100% true facts and I want you to check them out for yourself if you have any doubts of their validity) you have to wonder about Obama's judgement. He thinks he's a good judge of character, and yet on more than one occasion he's said "he's not the person I once knew." So just how many people did he once know that he doesn't know anymore that isn't who they used to be? It's not just one "shadow" that anyone needs to be afraid of. It's not even two or three... but here I have listed AT LEAST SIX known, factual "shadows" that should be more than enough to cast "beyond a shadow of a doubt" for anyone.

Ok, look. I know people make mistakes in their lives that they regret. And I know that a lot of people have friends that have made mistakes in their past. But you have to wonder about people who surround themselves with this many people who are involved in scandals, fraud, racism and hate, just to name a few things. And this isn't even the complete list!

All I'm saying is not to vote for Barack Obama because he's popular...or because he promises change (everyone always promises change.) Or because he's black (technically, he's only half-black, so technically, he will NOT be our first "African-American" president if he happens to make it into office.) And for God sakes, don't vote for ANYONE that you haven't researched for yourself to see where they stand! I don't care if you vote for McCain or Obama. That's what makes this country great! But I want you to vote for someone that mirrors your beliefs and values.

Welcome to the Recession

recession
noun
1. The state of the economy declines; a widespread decline in the GDP and employment and trade lasting from six months to a year

Ok, who here thinks we're in a recession, please raise your hand? Wow... ok, who here believes we're not in a recession? Hmm.... no one believes we're not? Oh, wait -- you in the back... who are you? Oh -- you're with the government. No wonder you don't think we are. Ok, so my question to you is, why is the government so unwilling to admit what everyone else already KNOWS? I mean, after all, one of the president's top economic advisers finally came out and said that "parts" of the country were showing signs of a recession... Come on! It's not like it's a 4-letter word that no one wants to utter. Stand up and tell people really how it is. Just get the gall to stand up and say "yes, all signs show that we are in fact in a recession. We are aware of the problems people and businesses are facing right now and we are working diligently with all of our economic advisers to find out the best course of action that will have the most positive effect for everyone. Please be patient and do not panic or worry. Things will work out in a way that's best for everybody."

There -- I wrote your line for you...now someone "grow a pair" get out there on television and tell the American people what we're all waiting to hear from our leaders. We all know it, but we just want to hear you say it.

So THIS makes it's the president's fault?

Ok, so I have been wondering why everyone blames our current president for this "blown-out-of-proportion" economic crisis. I say "blown out of proportion" because it wouldn't be as bad as it is if it weren't for people panicking for no reason. But that's another blog.

So anyway, I asked someone that question and got this answer... He said that Bush loosened up the government regulations on corporations and because of that, businesses did a lot of extra stuff that they previously weren't allowed to do and that's why we're here. Well the point of loosening the restrictions is that it's supposed to be better for everyone--because when businesses do better, everyone does better. It was supposed to help out the free market and have healthy competition amongst different companies. Like for example, deregulating the electric companies was supposed to create a competitive market and lower our electric rates. Instead, what has happened? Our rates have gone up over 50% since deregulation! So who's fault is that? Is it the president's fault? Did he make the electricity cost more? Of course not. Did he make banks and investment companies give people with horrible credit a home mortgage that they wouldn't be able to pay in a few years? No he didn't. So what happened? A business that does well are good for everyone because they create jobs and wealth (not just for the CEO's, but for their employees. Well, in reality, that one statement is true...A business that does well is good for everyone. (Take note of that, Obama.) However, what happened is you got several GREEDY CEO's and business owners that they ended up screwing people over to make their own wallets fat and not worrying about whether or not someone can pay their mortgage because they already got their money--and they already made their bonuses, and they already got their "Golden Parachute" ready. So again, even though I got an answer, it's not a good one... so just as Sean Hannity is still waiting for someone to tell him what Barack Obama has done that would prove that he would make a good president, I'm still waiting for someone to show me why this economic crisis is George W. Bush's fault.

I don't get it...

I just flat-out don't get it. There are some really REALLY stupid people in this world. We all know that. But the ones I'm specifically referring to are the ones that think Barack Osama, uhm, I mean Obama is the answer to our economic crisis. Well, first off, it's fake. There is no real "crisis." It's all made up to be worse than it is because of stupid people. The Osama-biased media tries to make things seem so much worse; therefore people who don't do research for themselves to find out where he really stands, and who simply feel that Osama is good for his word, are the ones that are making things worse. But the problem isn't the current president's past or present economic policies (as my previous blog stated.) The market is simply correcting things to be where they should be. Remember the Dot.Com boom & bust? Now it's happening with the Housing Boom & Bust. So just don't panic... it will all level out.

Anyway, tax breaks for the middle-class sounds great considering most of you reading this blog are "middle-class" (financially speaking -- myself included.) I'm all for tax breaks. So instead, Osama wants to raise taxes on the companies people work for and make them pay MORE money?? That's such a wonderful idea! Raise taxes on companies who employ people, and do it during a time where just about every company is struggling to keep afloat! Why didn't McCain think of that? BECAUSE IT'S BACKWARDS THINKING! What happens to a company that's having a very difficult time staying afloat already in a struggling economy that now has to pay A LOT more in taxes? They have to cut back on costs! This includes, cutting back on benefits (and no, not just healthcare benefits) but also cutting back on STAFF! That's right! They have to lay people off! Look at the airlines, for example. No one can afford to fly to begin with, so what do they do? They raise fees! What happens then? Now, even less people can afford to fly! So now they're making even less money, so they have to cut back on staff since they can't afford to pay them. Now they're unemployed along with thousands of others... so now what good is a tax break going to do for them? If they're not working, then they're not paying taxes, right? Yeah... let's raise taxes on corporations... what a great idea!
